Worked in a web systems team that managed and administered all developer (SIT), quality assurance (QA), and production web servers for First Command.

Began as SharePoint Administrator starting in 2007, implementing the company’s first multi-server, highly available farm. This included designing, installing, configuring, and administering all front-end web servers, back-end web application servers, the SQL cluster for the farm, as well as performing upgrades and web application troubleshooting on all environments. Eventually this environment was successfully upgraded, in-place, in August 2010 to SharePoint 2010.

Troubleshot in-depth web application problems and errors related to Oracle WebLogic 11g and SharePoint 2007/2010 web application platforms, amongst various custom and proprietary .Net financial applications running in IIS 6 and 7.5.

Administered Oracle WebLogic 8.1, 9.2 and 10.3.2 middleware platforms running multiple custom java applications. Troubleshot issues related to upgrades, code changes and various other general maintenance problems that would occur while on-call.

Implemented the first SharePoint 2007 farm for First Command and acquired user adoption through gaining departmental, team and project utilization across the company.

Installed custom web applications including a dynamic .Net application that served up an automated forms process for the field offices and home office. Also implemented a number of custom WSP packages built by .Net developers that added extra functionality to SharePoint sites.

Configured IIS 7.5 web servers with F5 load-balanced reverse proxying, SSL termination, and SiteMinder for secure access to company documents, sites and other web content.

Upgraded the SharePoint 2007 farm to 2010 in August of 2010.

Major Accomplishments:

Worked in a special group called the ISP Swat Team dealing with various connectivity and latency issues at our remote offices around the country related to the rollout of a Citrix MetaFrame server farm. We worked with both the offices and their respective Internet Service Providers to stabilize internet connectivity so Citrix utilization was a more pleasurable experience.

Upgraded and replaced all of the field office routers from 2004 to 2006 and implemented IPSEC VPN connectivity for each office so their networks could talk to the home office and vice versa.
